Another option might be a personal chef. The ones I'm familiar with buy the groceries for a week or two-worth of food, come into your kitchen, prep all of the food and pre-cook where wanted or necessary, and then freeze it all with instructions attached on how to cook/re-heat it, then they clean up their mess and go!

You literally can pull a foil tray from the freezer, pop it in the oven, and in a short time, have a healthy and wonderful meal ready. And the prices aren't as terrible as you would think it would be to have a "personal chef."

One I knew charged $300 for two weeks worth of dinners for two people. Seems like a lot, but they're doing all the prep and cooking, so definitely worth it, especially for something like a gift for new parents if you can afford it.

There's also something called Foods Across America that looks wonderful.. but a bit pricey. They are on the Internet and you can find them easily.

Good morning, kellyllouise, and welcome to the Kraftfoods community.

Although I know you can send refrigerated packages via some services like UPS, I'm not sure I would personally risk trying to send anything that requires refrigeration.

There are a lot of quick foods that can go in the pantry, but if you wanted something fancier, you might research her community for a nearby store that offers meals to go and provide a gift certificate. That way she, or her husband, can pick up exactly what they like and want.

Meals to send in the mail

Hello!
I'm writing in hopes for suggestions....my friend lives across the country and is expecting her first child soon. I want to provide her with some dinners once the little one arrives. All I could find on-line were services that you can pay to send meals out, does anyone have suggestions for things I can put together to send her so that she can put some meals together in a snap? Something that I can send her via mail...

Thanks for your help!!
