My mom made pork chops in the slow cooker the last time I visited and they were delicious. She coated them in pork rub and put them in the crock with a bottle of Kraft Zesty Italian dressing. I took some home for leftovers and they were even more tender the day after.

Paula Deen has a great recipe for pork chops. It's called "Farmers Pork Chops". It should be on food network site.

Here's a good easy one:
Put some salt, pepper and onion powder on your chops and brown them in a fry pan. When they're brown on the outside, transfer them to a baking dish, then add two cans of mushroom soup, two cans of Minute Rice, two cans of frozen corn, and a half can of milk to the frypan; and stir them around to get all the tasty brown burnt stuff off the pan. Heat that in the frypan until it starts to bubble, then pour it over the chops in the baking dish. Put the whole mess in a 350 oven until it starts to get kind of golden on top.

Try this one. My family really likes the combination of pork and apples.
Ingredients
3-4 pounds boneless pork or boneless pork chops 3 pounds applesauce 2 Tbs. apple pie spice (mixture of cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg) 6 small red potatoes, whole 4 carrots, peeled and cut in chunks 2 C. white pearl onions, peeled and left whole 2 firm tart apples, peeled, cored, and sliced thin
Directions
Remove any visible fat from pork; cut in large chunks. Combine applesauce and spice in a large, heavy pot or crockpot. Add meat. Cover tightly; cook on medium heat 10 minutes. Reduce heat to a simmer; cook at least 4 hours and as long as 10 hours. One hour before serving, add potatoes, carrots, and onions. Fifteen minutes before serving, add apple slices. To serve, remove meat, vegetables, and apples to a large platter and pour 1 C. of sauce over all. Serve remaining sauce on the side.
Serves 8.

Thankfully that crockedpot hasn't been in "retirement" very long! Just a few days ago it was all that was used in your commercial kitchen at home. Should be easy to find.

I prepare the mashed potatoes to go with my "Braised Pork Chops" so they will be ready for mashing about 5 minutes after I"ve had a chance to "skim off " the crockpot liquid. (You can expedite this skimming off by using a bulb type skimmer reaching to the bottom of the crock pot/container as the fat will immediately start coming to the surface and you can avoid it.) Put the liquid into a saucepan on medium heat.
The instant mashed potatoes are used only to thicken the crockpot liquid during the last 15-30 minutes of cooking. If you don't want to use instant mashed potatoes, you can use 1/4 cup Kraft Minute Tapioca to thicken the liquid added at the beginning of the cooking period. Finally, some folks like to thicken liquids by using corn starch instead of flour. Remember, 1 Tsp of corn starch is the equivalent of 2 Tsp flour and it must be mixed with a small amount of water untl smooth then strirred into the hot liquid.
A trick I learned years ago when you mash potatoes, you can use butter or margarine, a bit of sour cream, and "warmed" milk before "mashing" or "samshing" them. S & P are up to you. The warmed milk is the secret.
Chef Bill sez: "Need to keep your chops warm' while you mash your potatoes...put them in a 170 degree oven which is an accepted "keep warm" temperature, covered with foil. Before serving you can "smother" then with your gravy in a large baking dish or just serve your gravy in a gravy boat, etc."

that sounds delish! may have to unretire the crock! quick ques...- you dont prepare the mashed pots b-4 thickening the gravy, eh? or do you? you could probably do it either way, as to not waste the instant mashed?

try marinating them with your favorite marinade and grilling them. try to find a salt free marinade, as salt tends to dry meat out. also stay away from citrus marinades as they do the same. maybe an oil base and a wee bit of vinegar with some herbs and black pepper. bar-b-que season is upon us!! my crock pot has been retired. for the summer!!! although, someone mentioned a brownie recipe for the crock pot. small weakness for brownies. sorry to get off track. hope this helps!

I prepare "Braised Pork Chops" in the slow cooker as follows:
6-8 lean pork chops cut 3/4 to 1" thick 1/3 Cup AP flour 1 tsp salt 1 tsp dry mustard 1/2 tsp garlic salt 2 Tbs shortening or Canola oil 1 can cream of chicken soup, or cream of mushroom soup (I like to use golden mushroom), or cream of celery soup.
Mix flour, salt, mustard, and garlic salt in a plastic bag and dredge the chops with the mixture.
Heat shortening or canola oil in a skillet and brown chops on both sides.
Place chops in cooker and add soup, stir slightly.
Cook on low 6-8 hours or on high 3-4 hours.
Remove chops when cooked and keep warm. Pour liquid off into a separate bowl, skim off fat, and thicken for gravy any way you like,,,a quick and easy way is to thicken it with instant mashed potatoes.
Chef Bill Sez: "The reason many people find their chops dry and tough now days is because pork has become very very lean, and can dry out quickly and toughen if cooked too long".

I like to slow cook them in the crockpot with a bottle of barbeque sauce. Then I shred them and make BBQ pork sandwiches.

I bake my pork chops and tenderloin. Salt and pepper pork chops on both sides then dredge in flour. Brown in frying pan with a small amout of oil or shortening on both sides. Put chops in a baking dish after browning, Add enough hot water to cover bottom of baking dish and cover dish with lid or tin foil tightly. Bake in a 350 degree pre-heated oven for 30 to 45 minutes. If you like them flavored more put a few drops (to taste) of Worstershire sauce in your baking dish. These chops come out of the oven so tender you can cut them with a fork.

Our pork chops are really tough, got them from the locker. Anyway the best way to cook tough chops for me is in the crock. I cooked them in cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup, chicken broth and a Lipton Onion Soup mix packet, plus cut up an onion. They turn out really tender and very tasty!
