What I use to make homemade tomato soup is tomatoes, onions, and potatoes and salt and pepper. You can make it without the onions and potatoes. I guess it is what you were brought up on is the way you will cook it when you want homemade tomato soup. This is a simple and good recipe. :)

Thanks for the recipe, Vanessa175. I have a ton and a half of tomatoes right now and this sounds like a great way to use a bunch up.

Old Fashioned Tomato Soup

3c. chopped fresh tomatoes
1sm. onion,chopped
1bay leaf
1/2 tsp. allspice

1/4 tsp. soda
3 tbsp. butter or margarine

1c.milk

Welcome to the community, gerrimarsh! If you put "tomato soup" into the search above and hit the orange Search button, you will get a lot of recipes back. You can hover your mouse over them for images on many of them and see which appeal to you to try.

I've never made it in a slow cooker, though, and I'm not sure which of those recipes will be for a slow cooker.

Yes. But there are tons on the internet that you can peruse at will.
For the most part, you need nothing more than onions, olive oil, S&P, red wine and water.
